The Indian Army will be stronger to buy 4960 Milan anti-tank guide missiles.
The government has been buying arms for some time to strengthen the Indian Army.
As part of this, the Ministry of Defense has now approved the purchase of 4960 Milan-2T anti-tank guide missiles worth Rs 1160 crore. Importantly, these missiles are to be manufactured in India. It will be manufactured by an Indian company. The French defense company has also issued a license for this.
The deal to buy these missiles was long overdue. Constant efforts were being made for it. However its production was delayed. Now the Make in India campaign will gain more momentum in India because of its production. For this, the government has entered into an agreement with Bharat Dynamics Limited.
Anti-tank missiles are used to fly armed vehicles, including tanks, and the missiles that India has traded are of the third pay scale. This missile can be launched from the ground or vehicle. The involvement of missiles will further strengthen the Indian Army.
