Epidemic / CM Rupani announced: Night curfew and limited restrictions extended for next three days in Gujarat

Cash and jewelery worth Rs 26 lakh have been stolen from the house of internationally acclaimed and Padma Bhushan-awarded sculptor Ram Sutar. It is alleged that the domestic helper, who was arrested three days ago, carried out the scam.

Ram Sutar lives in Sector-19, Noida Sector-20 Police Station. The accused was kept as a housewife by the Delhi Placement Agency. He came to work three days ago. Police have registered a case and started investigation.

It may be mentioned that the sculptor Ram Sutar, who was awarded the Padma Bhushan, has a studio in Sector-63. They have created more than 15,000 statues so far. Thousands of statues have been created. On October 31, 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the 182-meter-tall Statue of Unity of India's 'Iron Man' Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Padma Bhushan Ram Sutar lives in the block of Noida Sector-19. They hired Madan Mohan, a resident of Odisha, for housework through the Delhi Placement Agency. A servant working at Ram Sutar's house went on leave, due to which Madan Mohan was kept.

ADCP (Noida Zone-1) Ranvijay said the accused had come for work three days ago. It also prevented police verification. On Tuesday night, accused Madan Mohan broke the lock of the closet and fled after stealing cash and jewelery worth Rs 1 lakh.

On Tuesday, sculptor Anil Sutar and his wife went to Mumbai to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the ADCP said. Only father Ram Sutar, daughter and son were in the house. The son had gone to the market at the time of the incident. When he returned, he reported the theft.

Police are investigating CCTV cameras inside and outside the home. Placement agency managers are being questioned. Additional DCP Ranvijay Singh said three teams of police have been formed for the investigation. A team has gone to Odisha for investigation. The case will be busted soon.
