Delhi's Saket court has sentenced Indian Mujahideen militant Ariz Khan to death in the Batla House encounter case.






Delhi's Saket court has sentenced Indian Mujahideen militant Ariz Khan to death in the Batla House encounter case. The court reserved the decision to hear Ariz's sentence until 4 p.m. Police had sought the death sentence of Ariz Khan for the murder of Inspector Mohanchand Sharma. In the latest case, Ariz Khan was sentenced to death by a court





Who was Ariz Khan?





Ariz Khan Khan is a native of Azamgarh and was an engineer by profession. He worked in the Indian Mujahideen to recruit terrorists as well as recruit new terrorists. The NIA (National Investigation Agency) and Delhi Police had placed a bounty of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh on him.




The NIA had registered a case against Ariz Khan for conspiracy, recruitment of terrorists, conspiracy against the country as well as money laundering for a terrorist organization.



The court convicted Ariz Khan under the Arms Act and Sections 302, 307. He was absconding after the Batla House encounter case in 2008 and was deported from Nepal in 2018.
