Science (from the Latin word scientia, meaning "knowledge") is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe.

The earliest origins of science can be traced back to ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia from about 3500 to 3000 BCE. His contributions to mathematics, astronomy, and medicine entered and shaped classical ancient Greek natural philosophy, through which formal efforts were made to provide explanations of events in the physical world based on natural causes.

Modern science is generally divided into three main disciplines, including natural sciences (e.g., biology, science, chemistry, and physics), which study nature in a broad sense; Social sciences (e.g. economics, psychology and sociology), which study individuals and society; And scientific formal science (e.g. logic, mathematics, and theoretical computer science), which studies abstract concepts. However, formal formal science really constitutes science because they rely on empirical evidence. There is disagreement about whether or not. Discipline using existing scientific knowledge for practical purposes such as engineering and medicine is described as applied medicine.
